When it comes to the Disney Dining Plan, there are two very important things to consider – value and convenience! As a mom to a very busy 3-year-old little boy, I am ALL about convenience. That’s one of the reasons I love the Disney Dining Plans.
That being said, I’m never willing to sacrifice value for convenience! This is why I’ve created my top 3 tips for getting the most out of the Disney Dining Plan!
Be expensive! When it comes to being sure you are getting the most out of your Disney Dining Plan, it really all comes down to math. Now, if you are anything like me, math wasn’t your favorite subject in school – but luckily for you, I’ve done the hard work for you!
Table Service Restaurants – order menu items that are $40.00 and above per adult.
Quick Service Restaurants – order menu items that are $20.00 and above per adult.
Snacks – order menu items that are $6.00 and above.

Split your meals! If there is one thing my husband and I have learned over the years of visiting Walt Disney World together, it’s that the portions are HUGE. We can rarely finished a meal on our own!
What I love about sharing meals is that it makes our dining credits go further and gives us the opportunity to try even more of the amazing food that Disney has to offer!
Here are some of our favorite meals to share!
I cannot recommend utilizing the Mobile Order feature within the My Disney Experience app enough! You can easily order and pay for your food at Quick Service locations, and then select a return window when your food will be ready for pickup.
However, when it comes to utilizing Mobile Order with a Disney Dining Plan, it’s important to note that the My Disney Experience app defaults to using the Dining Plan. And, while this is adds to the convenience of the Disney Dining Plan, it can prevent you from getting the full value of your Dining Plan.
Here’s a great example – Let’s say you order a side of cheese sauce as a part of your meal. The app will automatically default to the Dining Plan and charge a snack credit for that cheese sauce, which is not a great use of a snack credit!
Don’t stress! You can easily edit your order and choose how you’d like to pay for each items. This allows you to pay for that cheese sauce separately and prevents you from making a not-so-great use of those all-important snack credits!
Utilizing these three tips will help you take advantage of the convenience that the Disney Dining Plan offers, while ensuring that you are getting the full value of it as well!
